Karren Ushijima, originally from the beautiful island of Cebu, Philippines made her way to Las Vegas via Morocco, New York and New Jersey. She joined SDMI in 1995 at the Maryland Parkway location in the Medical Records department. At that time, there were only three SDMI locations. Karren has since worked her way through the ranks of SDMI from Front Desk Receptionist to Office Manager to Director of Front Office and now Director of Healthcare Services where she oversees close to 100 people in the Contact Center. Her leadership background and a Certified Nursing Assistant with roles throughout SDMI have given her the unique skillset needed to help develop workflow processes as SDMI expanded and needed to streamline. In 2019, in her new role as Director of Healthcare Services Karren led a human-centered redesign in the call center. In her off time, Karren can be found traveling, shopping and spending time with family.
