The Courier is responsible for the prompt delivery of Radiology Film, CD and reports and other assigned duties. Works in a positive manner with the SDMI file rooms, has proper phone etiquette and acts as a liaison with doctor’s offices to solve any problems that may occur and reports any changes immediately to Supervisor. Assists other couriers with any problems that may arise. Checks all films, CD’s and reports making sure they are going to the correct doctor, is correct patient and corrects any errors that may come up form other departments. Prints all CD’s that need to be delivered to referring physicians. Available for all STAT calls and covers other routes when needed. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds. May perform other job related duties as necessary for the efficient operation of SDMI.
- Must be a High school graduate or equivalent. Previous courier or medical delivery experience preferred.
- Oral communication, concise instructions and the ability to communicate with employees of various doctor’s offices in a courteous manner.
- Skill in organizing time to accommodate changes in workload and assignments in order to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Skill to pay attention to details and accuracy in completing tasks.
- Utilize supplies and equipment effectively.
- Respond positively to changes in assignments and priorities.
- Works as an effective team member with co-workers and other personnel.
- Computer literate.
- Vehicle registration must be current while vehicle has to be reliable and auto insurance must be up to date.
- Must possess a valid Nevada driver’s license.
- Must possess a knowledge of all major streets in the city of Las Vegas
- Patience, tact, and courtesy when dealing with the public.
- Able to identify hazardous material in immediate work area.
- Knows and follows all SDMI safety and evacuation guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Willingly participates in cross-training activities within the department for own professional growth in order to contribute to the overall function of SDMI.
- Assume responsibility for updating knowledge of current SDMI department policies and procedures, protocol and practices.
- Demonstrate punctuality by reporting to work on time/satisfactory attendance record that complies with SDMI attendance policy.
- Takes full responsibility for all functions within job description and assures that all functions are completed before leaving SDMI at the end of the shift.
- Communicates effectively when follow up is needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
