Pediatric VCUG

This test is most often done on kiddos under 2 so mom and dad we will talk to you. This test will check how your baby goes to the bathroom. To do this we need to place a small catheter in their bladder, although not pleasant, we do everything we can to take extra gentle care and provide privacy, we also use a lidocaine numbing lubricant.  Next we will drain the bladder then use a contrast through the catheter to fill the bladder. We will watch how your child urinates, once completed the catheter will be removed.

This section of our website is dedicated to helping Mom & Dad explain to their child what they can expect when they visit SDMI.
